Standard Ball NRV B-01 |
Check
Valve - Ball type (non-return valve) was
the first valves at Normex
with a unique design. A very simple but robust design with no critical mechanism involved. All parts like hinge-pin-disc mechanism used in
conventional valve are eliminated, and Normex
has put in a reinforced rubber coated ball to arrest flow media in return condition. This ball, moves totally out of the flow path when the pumping is on to give minimum head losses. The
spherical rubber coated ball seals perfectly on the rounded valve seat ensuring a totally leak proof sealing. This design offers other advantages like non-clogging & self cleaning. In this
virtually maintenance free valves, if required, after prolonged usage, the on-line replacement of the ball is just a minute job.

Ball Non Return Valves |
 |
Principle:
The
heart of this valve is a reinforced rubber ball. The unique design of the valve allows free movement of the ball. The ball moves to open position when the pump starts & allows free
flow of liquid without any interference
(See
Fig.).
As
the pump stops, the ball seats firmly against the metal seat due to its own weight & back pressure of the liquid (Mouse
over fig.).
This results in DROPLESS sealing. |
n Dimensionally
compatible with IS 5312 (Face to Face)
n Can
be installed vertically or horizontally
n Operates
silently
n Operates
at temp 80 °C continuously
(for 100 °C application please contact us.)

|
|
|
|
|
1.
Head Loss (Pressure Drop)
|

Low, Due to light, free
flowing rubber ball, without causing any interference, resulting in lower power consumption (frictionless)
|

High, Due to interference of the heavy hinge/disc
mechanism, with the flow resulting in high power consumption.
|
|
2.
Perfect Sealing
|

The sealing face is deposit
free, since it remains inclined in any position of the valve, ensuring perfect sealing. (Drop less)
|

Deposits on the sealing due to its flatness may not
ensure perfect sealing.
|
|
3.
Solid Handling Capacity
|
Clear passage, equal to
nominal valve dia. gives larger solid handling capacity
|
The above interference leaves
a clear passage less than the normal valve dia., hence smaller solid handling capacity
|
|
4.
Self Cleaning
|
Any deposits formed on the
ball and in the valve passage are removed due to the rolling of the ball in operation.
|
No such possibility
|
|
5.
Non-Clogging Nature
|
No moving parts other than the
free moving ball, hence no jamming/clogging.
|
Moving parts may jam due to
deposits.
|
|
6.
Applications
|
Unlimited. Ideal for slurries,
sewage, viscous, erosive & corrosive liquids.
|
Limited. Troublesome for
slurries, sewage & viscous liquids.
|
|
7.
Maintenance
|
Abrasion resistance of rubber
ensures longer life. Also the cleanout port does not necessitate valve removal from the pipeline. Hence much shorter downtime.
|
Parts may wear out due to
abrasion. Also, valve may be removed from the pipeline for maintenance/ cleaning. Hence longer down time.
|
Normex Rubber lined /FRP lined NRV B - 02
|
|

|
This ball
check valve can be
offered with inside lining of Rubber / FRP with all its advantages. The lining of Ebonite hard, Neoprene, Butyle etc., can also be offered depending on chemicals /
abrasives handled.
This
is the best valve for abrasives / chemicals.
The overall dimension of this valve will be similar to standard
check valve, but face to face length will
be more by 6 - 10 mm
Size 25 – 350 mm |
Normex Low Pressure
check valve
(Threaded) B - 06
|
|

|
Low pressure
check valve
is having both ends threaded & has got all
the advantages of standard ball
check valve. This valve works vertically or horizontally.
Sizes : 25 – 100 mm working pressure
6 kg/cm2
Sizes : 100, 125 & 150 mm available in flanged top & bottom |

CHECK VALVE - BALL TYPE
&
CONVENTIONALLLY
USED FLAP TYPE |
|
Normex Ball type B-01 |
Conventional Flap type |
|
Innovative design, focused to eliminate all constraints of conventional one and offer optimum performance |
Conventional design carries lot of constraints. |
|
Internals designed in such a way that laminar flow is not disturbed to a large extent. |
Turbulance is generated in fluid flow due to design limitations. |
|
Very low pressure drop acros the valve which saves energy, reduces pump cycle time duration |
Comparatively high pressure losses, requires more energy increases pump cycle time duration. |
|
Opening & closing mechanism is by way to free flowing rubber coated ball hence eliminated hing-pin-disc failure. |
Opening & closing mechanism involves hing-pin-disc calls for frequent maintenance. |
|
Maintenance free - in case required open top cover. No need to remove valve from pipe line - very low down-time. |
For maintenance, valve is required to remove from pipe.
Longer down time. |
|
Same valve can be used for wide range of applications as it can be supplied with ruibber or FRP lining especially for corrosive and errosive applications. |
No such possibility. For these applications special metallurgy required to be used which results in paying high cost for the valve. |
|
Vertical or horizontal installation is easily possible |
Installation recommended for horizontal position. |
|
Material used is of grade FG 260 having higher tensile strength (26 N/mm2) |
Material recommended is FG 200 having lower tensile strength (20 N/mm2) |
